Job Description

Machine Operator, $14.00- $16.00/hour - Shelby  

 
A Shelby manufacturer that specializes in producing robust, high-quality library and educational furniture is seeking Machine Operators  to join their growing team on 1st Shift!  Hours are 7:00am-3:40pm (Monday-Friday.)  Overtime may be required. 
  
 
The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating machinery, measuring pieces of furniture, and ensuring all specifications are being met and followed.

Skills:
  • Properly load and unload wood parts into a machine
  • Perform inspection work of wood furniture pieces
  • Measure out wood pieces to assemble furniture  
  • Prepare furniture to be packaged and shipped out 
  • Sand wood parts according to work instructions
  • Follow operational, safety, and written work instructions 

 
Qualifications:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a repetitive basis is required 
  • Ability to stand, walk, push or pull for an entire shift
  • Must be able to interpret written and verbal work instructions, safety procedures, and operational procedures 
  • Must be able to work overtime if required 
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred
  • Previous manufacturing or wood working experience is required
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
