Job Description
Toolmaker - 3rd Shift - up to $35/hr - Canton, MI
Do you enjoy making things? Do you have experience in old-school toolmaking and know how to use manual machines? Are you looking for a company that pays very well and wants to invest in you for the long haul? If so, your search is over!
Qualifications:
- Analyzes a variety of specifications, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate or repair cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, or machinist’s hand tools.
- Assemble, disassemble, repair, and/or modify tools and dies using a hydraulic press.
- Applies knowledge of tool design, shop mathematics, metal properties, layouts, machining, and assembly procedures.
- Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock to lay out workpieces for machining.
- Sets up and operates machine tools, such as lathe, milling machine, ID, and OD grinders to machine parts to specifications.
Skills:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to read blueprints and schematics
- Prior toolmaking experience is preferred
A day in the life at this company for this position consists of showing up and working from 7 am-5 pm, M-F, with OT as required. In this position, you’d be mainly responsible for toolmaking and running manual machines like lathes, milling machines, ID/OD grinders, etc. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with vast knowledge and experience in this who is looking for somewhere that wants to invest in them and their future!
