Sample Prep Tech, Up to $20hr – 3rd shift -Elkhart, IN

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Run & set up a CNC mill to make all samples.
  • Be able to navigate software for CNC machine
  •  Be able to understand and effectively use computerized business systems and other
  • technology and business platforms
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Read and work from plans, blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
  • Observe health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Meet schedules and timelines.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Maintain various records related to work performed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to pass the Basic Blueprint test
  • Ability to do heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to set up and run a CNC mill and navigate software
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Either a Certificate of completion from CNC classes or 1 year of experience in CNC mills
  • Work well in a team-based environment

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong verbal and math skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, calipers
  • Able to work overtime and/or various shifts
  • Able to work in an environment without climate control
 
 
The Sample Prep Tech understands and reinforces the Company's Vision of
being the best producer of steel pipe and tube in North America. Responsible for setting up and
running a CNC mill to cut samples of tubes for testing. Ability to read blueprints and fabricate cuts,
as well as communicate with supervisors to get the correct samples out.  Temp-to-hire!
