Safety Administrator - Grand Rapids - $18-21/hr
The Safety Administrator will be responsible for helping support our Culture of Safety across Workbox Staffing with a focus on training, health and safety program implementation, job risk assessment, client company audits, and operations support. | |
As the Safety Administrator, you will promote and ensure effective safety operations by helping the Safety Manager conduct safety inspections, administer training, incident and accident investigation, root cause analysis and correction, and communicating accident prevention. This position will also help with company supported safety initiatives, engaging and inspiring team members by communicating the Company vision, mentoring others, and providing technical support. | |
The Safety Administrator will assist the Safety Manager with client companies, when applicable, in reducing actual and potential losses by providing guidance in recommending, implementing, and improving safety and health initiatives. | |
Safety Administrator Will… | |
• | Help the safety team drive a Culture of Safety throughout the organization to reduce injuries and incidents. |
• | Help develop long range goals and objectives for managing risk exposures and employee safety and controlling costs associated with risk and worker's compensation claims. |
• | Help conduct periodic on-site safety inspections, analyzing work practices to determine safe and efficient methods of performing work. |
• | Help the Safety Manager determine corrective or preventative means and methods where indicated and follow up to ensure they have been implemented. |
• | Assist with documents information in relevant reports and analyzes data to make control and improvement recommendation(s). |
• | Assist in developing safety policies/procedures and ensure they are being followed. |
• | Help analyze loss reports for trends to develop timely, effective, and value-added solutions. |
• | Help the Safety Team monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), evaluate the effectiveness of efforts and initiatives, and develop and implement changes required for continuous improvement. |
• | Assist the Safety Manager on-site with investigating recordable incidents and managing the review and corrective actions process. |
• | Learn to identify, and reports causes of past accidents and develops recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrences. |
• | Help the Safety Team anticipate changes or developments in applicable safety issues and relay these to customers and employees as needed. |
• | Help maintain close alignment, communication, and collaboration between the Safety Team and operational leadership with a strong focus on executing strategies that serve the unique business needs, operational profiles, and risk tolerances for each of the respective business units. |
• | Assist the Safety Team with incident and injury notification and processing and reporting. |
Determines corrective or preventative measures and works with appropriate individuals to ensure the implementation of corrective actions. | |
• | Assist Safety Manager in the inspection of facilities/worksites to detect existing or potential health, safety, and/or environmental hazards. Determines corrective or preventative measures and works with appropriate individuals to ensure the implementation of corrective actions. |
• | Help the Safety Team in driving continuous improvement. |
• | Help the Safety Team support the management of injury prevention, workers' compensation, and medical management as needed. |
• | Assist the Safety Manager in conducting inspections of equipment for appropriate machine guarding, safe operation, and safe working processes and training to Account Managers, Sales and recruiters. |
• | Perform special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization and at the need of the Safety Team. |

Required Qualifications | ||||
• | Three (3) to five (5) years of safety, compliance, loss control or increasing levels of responsibilities in related operations. Ability to write effective monthly safety newsletter. Organize, order and maintain inventory count of PPE Organize, respond and monitor safety survey questionnaires with follow-up and spotting trends in safety, incidents and company safety concerns. | |||
• | Ability to work independently, remotely, and with minimal supervision | |||
• | Ability to travel as required. | |||
• | Must be able to learn and understand the manufacturing processes, quality and safety standards, equipment operations, safety requirements, and departmental procedures necessary to lead and troubleshoot within the area of responsibility. | |||
• | Ability to effectively negotiate and influence at all levels of the organization in supporting the safety health and environmental management system. | |||
