Job Description

1st Shift TIG/MIG Welder/Fabricator/Fitter $21-$24 hour + 
(Pay based on experience)
Piedmont, SC 
A MIG/TIG Welder is responsible for performing various welding tasks such as welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. They operate welding equipment, including 90%Tig welding as well as MIG. machines, to join metal parts, fabricate or repair metal products, and monitor the welding process to ensure a high-quality finish. The welder must understand and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques and materials required for each job. 
 
Will need to pass Tests:
 
Tig Test is a Vertical T-Joint 1/16” thick.
MIG Test T-Joint in Overhead, Vertical, Down position. 1/16”
Metric Measurement and Blueprint Symbols and setup test.
 
 
Responsibilities:

• Must be able to TIG weld
  • Must be able to read metric measurement and metric tape measure.
  • Must be able to weld Thin Guage metals 11,14,16 gauge (nothing thicker than 3/8”.
  • Must be able to weld Carbon, Stainless, and Aluminum
  • Must know how to Clean Up Product so it is presentable (finish, grind, smooth, polish welds.
  • Must know how Grind and Acid Wash
• Must be able to read blueprints
• Must be able to read calipers and tape measures
• Must have working knowledge of the metric system
• Must know AWS welding symbols
• Must have a welding helmet
• Must be able to operate power tools, such as Grinders, and Drill Press.
• Must have excellent attention to detail
 
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 years required in Welding
  • 1 year preferred in Manufacturing
 
*This is a temp-perm position. The company has a high desire to hire on permanently. *
