Carpenters, 1st shift - $17.50/hr. – Savannah, GA - South
 
 
Workbox Staffing is hiring Carpenters in Savannah, GA!  
 
Job Summary- As part of our Crate Shop team, you will engineer and execute the custom design and fabrication of shipping crates, bagging, cushioning, shrink-wrapping, vibration dampening, waterproofing and other preservation packaging solutions to ensure products arrive as promised to our customers. You will assist in providing packaging and protection solutions for everything from gas turbine engines and complete knock down truck chassis to manufacturing lines and business jet wings.

Qualifications:
  • Adhere to all safety regulations
  • Custom design and fabrication of shipping crates
  • Build pallets and heavy-duty skids
  • Custom packaging of heavy goods
  • Container outfitting of shipping containers
  • Blocking and bracing of shipping containers
  • Offsite crating at customers’ facility
  • Marine Shrink wrapping
  • Themo welding
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 
Skills:
  • Woodwork experience is required
  • Experience in following standard safety precautions, adhering to manufacturer’s instructions when using power tools, wears recommended protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protectors, and work gloves. 
  • Experience in safely and efficiently operating a variety of power and hand tools to complete jobs accurately and to specifications; such tools may include electric saws, pneumatic nail guns, drills, hammers, measuring tapes, and other construction tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and complete a variety of carpentry tasks with quality workmanship to fabricate shipping crates, heavy duty skids and pallets.
  • Certified in lift truck operation is a plus
  • Capacity to follow detailed instructions
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment
  • Punctuality and daily attendance required
  • Willingness to work overtime/Saturday as required
