Job Summary:

The Steel Crib Attendant will work as part of the direct manufacturing shop floor team. In this position, the steel crib attendant will manage or direct the flow of steel in a manufacturing environment. The steel crib attendant will operate a computer, process paperwork, inspect incoming steel for size and type, complete work orders, and issues parts. This position requires the steel crib attendant to move material to the proper location controlled manufacturing environment and may require the steel crib attendant to work outdoors.

This position requires the ability to read instructions and follow these instructions with precision to produce outputs.

Essential/Key Functions:

Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures

Take precision measurements using micrometers if applicable

Operate a computer

Maintain inventory levels

Order parts and/or product

Operate a forklift, hand cart, pallets jack to move materials throughout the plant or outside as needed

Cycle Counting

Manage and direct the flow of steel throughout the plant or outside

Inspect incoming steel for correct sizes and steel type

Deliver receipt paperwork to the proper personnel

Maintain order on paperwork such as work orders or bill of materials

Complete work orders

Pull parts from stock

Process WIP

Send and receive ST/OT s, input into computer, and work with other facilities

Maintain equipment in good condition and perform operator preventative maintenance as needed

Utilize tape measure, scale, micrometers, caliper, and indicator

Submit requests for maintenance repair as required

Keep records of production quantities and time as needed

Report on issues, malfunction or defective parts as needed

Able to stop production if the work center/machine is not producing products that meet all required specifications

Properly identify all product processed with work order number, inspection status, and operation status as needed

Follow all safety guidelines and operate machinery in a safe manner

Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary including weekends and holidays if deemed necessary by the company

Minimum (Required) Qualifications:

Education and Experience

High school diploma;

Higher degree from a technical school preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Technical knowledge

Computer skills, E1 knowledge preferred

Ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.

Ability to use and read a micrometer, tape measure, caliper, & indicator

Ability to operate a forklift, handcart, or pallet jack as needed

Must possess basic math skills

Ability to understand quality control principles

Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to follow all safety guidelines
