Senior Assembly Process Technician - Muskegon, MI - 1st Shift

Job Summary: The qualified candidate will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring all assembly equipment on their shift and plant. The candidate will perform any repairs and needed modifications to the assembly machines and assist Assembly Process Technicians and Junior Assembly Process Technicians when needed. They will also assist in training and documentation of any changes to the assembly machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Senior Assembly Process Technician:
  • Organizing tech staff to support production zones/cells
  • Scheduling of vacations/PTO and managing the production tech support on the floor in case of illnesses or other absences
  • Responsibility to ensure production equipment startup is accomplished efficiently and properly to support production needs
  • Serves as the primary technical resource in charge on the floor in case of equipment malfunction
  • Schedules preventative maintenance activities on all shifts
  • Reviews all tech log books on all machines on a daily basis to identify issues that require addressing
  • Utilizes dashboard production data acquisition system to analyze production equipment issues and direct resources to address the issue
  • Works with directly with ME and other salaried technical staff to address any production issues including rate, machine performance, and product quality
  • Manages spare parts inventory control system
  • Serves as mentor and direct supervisor of all techs on the floor

Job Requirements of Senior Assembly Process Technician:
  • Must be a team player, by forming professional working relationship with all employees, including all levels of management
  • Must have excellent math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, fractions & decimals)
  • Must have the ability to read, comprehend and write clearly
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to take initiative and work unsupervised

Qualifications for Senior Assembly Process Technician:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC communication
  • Advanced knowledge of robotics and communication of robotics
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple vision systems
  • Knowledge of lockout and tag out procedures
  • Appropriate mathematics, reading, and writing skills
