Sales Engineer - $45k/yr + BOE - Holland, MI
A local Holland, MI company that designs and manufactures machinery for a variety of industries is actively seeking a Sales Engineer. Typical work hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with OT as needed. Travel could be up to 30% worldwide and would be required. The Sales Engineer will support sales efforts acting as a liaison between manufacturing and the customer base. Requirement of the job include but are not limited to:
-Research information for preparation of manufacturing new and used machine orders. Including, time line of one week after order is placed, attaching technical and commercial specifications together with container and closure samples. Tracking shipping schedule, and order confirmation to customer.
-Issue internal or customer derived change orders to manufacturing and insure correct machine changes are implemented. Track purchase order amendments and relative invoicing for purchases or credits.
-Coordinate with Customer and/or a third party line integrator regarding plant & line layout with recommendations and placement of equipment. Layouts imported to AUTO CAD from 3D Solid Works models that show machine orientation, placement and utility/process connections. Documents must be presented in a professional format.
-Participates in quotation process. This will be coordinated with the sales team member and may require a site visit to customer s facility. Insure that technical quotations are quoted accurately and promptly.
-Machine order specifications entered into database and ERP system for scheduling and publishing ordering tasks to various departments.
- Maintain and update manufacturing and production schedule for weekly meeting. Schedule machine order design reviews. Coordinate job startup and completion dates with engineering and operations VP.
-Required to travel a minimum of 10% and attend trade shows.
-Coordination with 3rd party equipment suppliers and the exchange of technical data required for the integration of their equipment e.g. cappers, sorters, conveyors, labelers etc.
-Maintain inventory of sample containers and caps. Analyze specialized containers with customers, pattern department and engineering for problem resolution.
-Understanding the principles of operation and functionality of CIP/SIP, chemical blend skids and their relationship with the production process.
-Meet with customers, when necessary, and assist with technical information to promote future sales.
-Coordinate shipping procedures with Shipping Department, including preparation and setup of customer equipment leaving , via telephone and email correspondence.
-Provide post sales design, build technical and specification support with customer via email, telephone and webinar conferences if necessary.
-Coordinate and setup up daily agenda, detailed checklist for Factory Acceptance Test protocol. Document post FAT action items required for correction and to completion.
-Work closely with Parts and Service Department regarding Start-up and extended spares, Installation and Commissioning Schedule.
-Customer support and troubleshooting with customer to discern whether or not a service call needs to be setup.
-Communicate closely with the Accounting Department from order inception to machinery shipment.
Functions and Requirements:
-Associates Degree in engineering discipline preferred.
-Five years Process Engineering/Manufacturing/Packaging experience.
-Proficient in the utilization of Auto CAD and Solid Works.
-Have knowledge of Navisworks or 3D modeling software experience
-Must have PC skills which include word processing and spreadsheet applications.
-Adept in various other CAD software for design, data analysis and presentations.
-Strong customer service background required.
-Valid passport is a must.
