Quality Assurance Manager

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager supports AL GROUP s Quality Assurance strategy by managing

the production site s continuous improvement in quality assurance, quality control and customer

satisfaction in accordance with organizational policies and quality standards. This position also

supports the QA issues that arise in NJ site.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Execute quality plans that are aligned with corporate, customer and business objectives and meet

the standards necessary for complete customer satisfaction to include:

Create and establish quality procedures, standards and specifications for the

manufacturing plant ensuring they meet international and national standards.

Define quality procedures and develop and maintain controls and documentation

procedures in conjunction with operating staff.

Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.

Manage the activities for Quality continuous improvement: lead the corrective and

preventive actions after receiving claims and reduce the number of customer complaints.

Lead continuous improvement processes as directed by AL GROUP VP of QA.

Recommend corrective action according to service and quality guidelines.

Ensure that root problems are identified, and corrective and preventive processes and

quality systems are implemented.

Manage the internal audit plan and customers audits.

Manage and assist with the creation of PPAP.

Lead process that reduces the manufacturing of non-conforming products.

Manage the QA team for calibration of schedules.

Resolve operational issues related to environment and conduct periodical environment


Ensure all Company and government safety requirements are met, and that a safe

workplace environment is in place for all employees.

Manage the S.C. quality control team towards a higher standard of quality control and

meet quality targets as directed by VP Quality Assurance.

Responsible for educating and training employees as to their impact in the quality

management system.

Ensure adherence with ISO9001 standards and company quality goals, including,

responsibility for renewing ISO certificates annually.

Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.

Write technical and management quality system reports and proposals for improvements

for monthly, quarterly and annual monitoring.

Manage and input data.

Required Skills and Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Academic degree in related field preferred

2-4 years of experience in quality or technical customer service

Knowledge of the filter manufacturing process and machinery preferred

Familiarity with ISO standards (9001 and TS) preferred.

Knowledge of PPAP preferred

Knowledge of OSHA requirements

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing process

Familiarity working with technical drawings and information

Strong communication and interpersonal skills including presentations

Ability to work with a high degree of discretion including safeguarding confidential


Creative problem solver

Enjoys new challenges and "can do" attitude

Collaborative and team oriented.

Familiarity with safety requirements in a manufacturing environment; OSHA certification

a plus

Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and advanced Excel skills

Proficient with MFG - ERP System
