JOB SUMMARY: This position is accountable for producing quality products safely and efficiently by operating and performing programming of a laser machine. The Laser/Punch Operator prepares production equipment for operation by producing parts using a punch press.


* Maintains quality standards and customer specifications by conducting in-process inspections while operating Punch Laser Machine

* Arranging and loading sheet metal

* Pulling sheet metal materials as required using a forklift

* Tooling setup and removal for laser punch

* Tooling and machine maintenance

* Performing quality checks on machined parts

* Troubleshooting during production run to maintain quality throughout

* Parts clean up

* Ensures operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures; reporting needed changes and repairs

* Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed through cooperation with team members and acceptance of re-assignments as directed by supervisor.


* Safety conscious

* Self-motivated / Ability to seek additional assignments

* Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing is a plus

* Ability to verify quality using precision measurement equipment / Good attention to detail

* Good communication skills and judgment

* Mechanical aptitude / Problem solving skills

* Work independently with minimal supervision but able to communicate and work with other departments

* Ability to follow deadlines and adapt quickly


* 1 to 2 years related experience preferred

* Previous forklift experience

* Must be able to work 3rd shift


* Requires lifting and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with assistance

* Rotation of head/neck, bending and twisting at the waist, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, use of high and low vibratory tools, flexion/extension, contact with metals, lubricants, solvents, exposure to noise, and the use of personal safety gear for face, eyes, hand/arm and ears

* Must be able to stand for 8 to 10 hours

* Able to maintain a quick and steady pace working efficiently throughout the shift
