The Multimedia Specialist is responsible for the design, creation, and management of multimedia deliverables, including video, audio, animation, and graphic design collateral that supports training delivery, marketing, sales, and other corporate communications initiatives. The Multimedia Specialist works closely with the Communications manager in the execution of objectives that support internal University and Marketing objectives.

The Multimedia Specialist is specifically responsible for the following:

  • Hands-on video scripting, recording, and editing, including the setup of video and photo shoots, lighting, sound, and other technical details.

  • Support for the delivery of live-stream video events.

  • Production of graphic collateral, including video, photography, and other image assets, for web content, social media, electronic publications, and print material.

  • Assistance with writing, editing, and proofreading copy included in multimedia deliverables.

  • Supports the delivery of content for the corporate website, social media accounts, and other distribution channels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Multimedia Development

  • Responsible for needs analysis, definition, and evaluation of project requirements to identify technology needs and constraints affecting collateral development.

  • Creates, reviews, and interprets documentation including use case scenarios, scripts, storyboards, and project plans to recommend and build effective delivery strategies.

  • Designs effective instructional materials, illustrations, animations, simulations and assessments to support educational content with an understanding of the project goals, target audiences, and campaign messaging.

  • Interacts with managers and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of content.

  • Recommends and follows best practices in collateral development to ensure an effective and consistent development process.

  • Maintains an awareness of new products, technologies, trends, and advances in multimedia development and works with the Communications manager to implement development changes as appropriate.

  • Maintains equipment and resources necessary for multimedia collateral development.

Communications and Media Support

  • Coordinate the delivery of content supporting corporate communication activities as needed, including social media posts and website updates.

  • Assist internal teams with internal and external communications that are consistent with company brand identity and communication standards.

  • Assist in the creation of sales, marketing, and product support collateral for the Strategic Alliance team.

  • Follows best practices in the development of media assets, including video, audio, and graphics.

QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Four-year college degree in multimedia arts, graphic design, or related field.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Experience with professional writing, instructional design, and product development, preferably in the software development environment. Experience with information gathering, organization, and synthesis.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
At least three years of progressive experience in multimedia development and delivery, including video, with preferable experience in adult educational content and the financial industry.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

  • Creativity and an aptitude for graphic and visual design appropriate to the business environment.

  • Experience with learning management systems and Articulate Storyline is preferred.
