Material Handler, $15hr, Madison Heights, MI
Are you looking for a Material Handler position? Are you looking for a 1st shift opportunity, with room for growth and advancement? If so, the search is over! We are seeking a hardworking, reliable material handler to join a locally owned, growing company eager to invest in the right candidate. For this position, you will be performing a variety of duties in support of the company's fabrication, weld and assembly cells. Duties include but are not limited to stocking FIFO and kitted carts with parts in required quantities based on level loaded production schedule, restock fabricated and purchased parts in finished park supermarket, maintain finished part supermarkets, coordinate replenishment and communicate potential shortages with Buyer/Planner, perform daily 5S maintenance and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:
- Performs tasks to JIs as trained
- Maintaining safe working conditions and 6-S
- Compliance with regulations, procedures, policies
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Participation i company training programs
- Work effectively in a team environment
- Reporting packaging problems, piece part abnormalities / nonconformance and unusual workplace events to BU lead person and supervisor
- Use a variety of unpowered material handing equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Functions and Requirements:
-Minimum 6 months recent forklift operating experience.
- Vision; near, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day and move amongst the facility
- Must be able to reach above shoulders and outward
- Able to bend, squat and crawl
- Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment; Eyewear, hearing protection, respirator and steel toe boots with metatarsals.
- HS Diploma/GED
Environment:
Hot in the summer and cold in the winter
Noise level can be greater than 85db
