Maintenance Technician, $18-22/hr BOE, Day Shift, Detroit MI

Job Duties:
- Assist maintenance supervisor with plant, equipment and building maintenance activities
- Analyze equipment/machinery failures
- Repair equipment/machinery
- Able to work in heights
- Operate the company’s CMMS after trained
- Complete scheduled work orders timely
- Maintain appropriate records of repair/replacement/maintenance
- Understand building codes and regulations, permits and certificates
- Facilitate contractor activities as appropriate
- Order required equipment/parts
- Maintain appropriate replacement part inventory
- Understanding of Service Reports
- Maintain logs/appropriate forms
- Reads/understands blueprints, specifications and pertinent standards
- Participate is spill response cleanup

Job Requirements/Experience:
- Building/equipment maintenance related experience and/or training
- Knowledge of chemical hazards and incompatibilities
- Familiar with ISO -9001 concepts
- Knowledge of appropriate regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of appropriate building/safety codes and permitting processes
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer / Microsoft Office skills and knowledge
- Pipe fitting of various different types of materials
- Welding and fabrication
- Pump troubleshooting and repair
- Man lift operation
- Fork lift operation
- Pneumatics and hydraulics troubleshooting and repair
- Passing background check and drug testing
