- The Electronic Technician has two primary responsibilities, final assembly and quality test of products being shipped and RMA repairs.
- Final assembly consists of loading code into PCBs, performing quality tests, mounting PCBs in appropriate housings for shipment.
- Repairs/RMAs consists of testing, troubleshooting and repairing down to component level of electronic assemblies utilizing test equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes and power supplies.
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
Ability to read schematics, follow procedures and apply computer skills and knowledge to resolve technical problems.
Code downloading and functional test execution.
Failed circuit board troubleshooting, repair and associated data collection/reporting.
Participation in functional testing of new firmware releases
Participation in documentation of test procedures
Participation in functional verification/acceptance of board & subassembly Test Fixtures.
Sustaining maintenance & calibration of Manufacturing Test Fixtures.
Recommendation of manufacturing test fixture improvements driving yield improvement.
Identification & Communication of negative yield and repair action trends requiring analysis.
Follow production material control and disposition methods, policies and practices.
Skill Sets and Competencies:
Reliable and dependable in being at work and successfully performing in the areas of responsibility
Working and communicating with other staff production management, engineering, sales, assembly
Minimum of 3 years of experience with detailed troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuit boards.
High aptitude in reading schematics & troubleshooting circuits: Mostly digital with some low level analog and power supply circuitry.
Experience troubleshooting & repairing surface mount and through hole technology board assemblies.
Skill/Experience using electronics Test & Measurement Equipment in circuit testing/troubleshooting: Power Supplies, Signal Generators, Multi-Meters, O-Scopes
Solid skill in using hand tools in electronic board assembly & repair: soldering irons, solder extractors, heat guns, etc.
Experienced in using/navigating a PC
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel and Word.
Attention to detail mentality and appreciation of project deadlines is essential.
