Accountable for the satisfaction and retention of the entire book of business under the BU Engine USA. Responsible for the day to day management of the Account Management team and will represent the team both internally and externally in this capacity.


A Bachelor s degree preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering is required with extensive product development engineering background in the automotive industry. Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive/components supplying industry in the role of an Account Manager which will include experience from concept to launch of programs.

  1. Effective management of account managers to ensure complete customer satisfaction and timely response on all deliverables. All service issues and relationship management issues will be elevated to this role.

  2. Responsible for retention of existing business and will be responsible to salvage any threatened accounts.

  3. Review of internal department reports that are to be elevated within company or delivered to current clients.

  4. Building and maintaining strong customer relationships.

  5. Routinely visit and confer with customers and engineering to assess status of current programs. Proactively manage warranty process, quality issues, and customer service.

  6. Locate and develop potential new business with current and prospective customers.

  7. Secure and renew orders.

  8. Collaborate with managers to develop proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.

  9. Support the diagnosis of problems with components / system.

  10. Collaborate with global Sales and Engineering organization regarding improved products or systems.

  11. Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the application and operation of current systems and components.

  12. Keep informed on industry news and trends, products, services, competitors, relevant information about legacy, existing, and emerging technologies, and the latest product-line developments.

  13. Attend and present at internal company and external seminars.

  14. Provide information as needed for the development of new / improved products and technology.

  15. Write technical documentation for products.

  16. Document current account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions with customers and suppliers.

  17. Maintain sales forecasting reports.

  18. Attend trade shows and seminars to learn about industry developments.

  19. Participate in internal and external client debriefs.

  20. Other duties as assigned.
