Buffer - 1st Shift - $16/hr - Holland, MI
A local Holland, MI company that designs and manufactures machinery for a variety of industries is actively seeking a Buffer for a Direct Hire role. The 1st shift is Monday - Friday from 7: 00 am to 3: 30 pm with some OT required. The Buffer will polish, buff, and crate parts assemblies and equipment in a timely manner maintaining a smooth flow of parts and products from production to crating for delivery to customer. They will assist in various job assignments throughout the production facility as directed by Buffing Manager. Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
-Performs various polishing, buffing, deburring, painting, sandblasting, cleaning and acid washing of parts and/or products utilizing necessary tools and equipment. Ensures product consistency per engineering blueprints and quality specifications, as provided or instructed.
-Assists crater when necessary to crate parts and equipment for shipment to customers per packaging standards.
-Route parts to other departments in the factory as necessary.
-Ensures and maintains safety and cleanliness of work area by performing housekeeping duties daily.
-Provides verbal/written feedback to appropriate member regarding engineering, manufacturing and/or routing problems with parts and/or equipment.
-Work overtime when scheduled by Buffing Manager.
-In the event of any emergency contact buffing Manager, or Plant Manager immediately. If you are unable to locate them, use your own judgement
-Performs and cross trains on various positions as required.
-Completes appropriate paperwork.
- Meets daily production requirements.
-Monitor the due dates on process sheets and complete all work by the scheduled due date, fill in time, sign and date.
-Maintains a professional appearance at all times, representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
-When QC Department requires additional assistance due to production demands, you will be required to help in that department.
Functions and Requirements:
-High School diploma preferred.
-Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
-On the job training provided.
-Must have good manual dexterity and the ability to communicate with coworkers.
