Basic Job Info:
Department: Racking
Job Title: Racker
Hours: 10 hr shifts (w/alternating weekends)
Job Objective: Build carriers and rack aluminum product in preparation for Anodizing
Prior Experience or Advanced Education: No prior experience needed (must engage in training)
Punctuality : Must arrive on time and be ready to work at start of shift, return promptly from lunch and breaks, and maintain good attendance
A reas of Certification, Special Training, and Testing: Safety, quality and other testing and training as needed
Required Tool Usage: Various wrenches, tape measure, hand held grinder, utility knife, tin snips, and off line racking shuttle
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain department safety (including housekeeping) , quality, and productivity to meet daily goals
Communicate information with Team Leaders to ensure comprehension of tasks and maximize productivity
Acute attention to: Handling of parts and working together as part of a team
Build carriers and rack aluminum parts in preparation for Anodizing
Prepare carriers and parts by changing contact points as needed
Build carriers and rack parts as instructed by Racking Team Leader
Meet set standards; part requirements, contact points, and anodizing restrictions
Maximizing square footage of loads
Job Requirements :
Pass all certifications, training, testing, and qualification requirements.
Apply learned knowledge daily
Ability to :
Communicate verbally and in written text with Team Leaders, Supervisors and co-workers
Operate all tools and equipment used in the racking process
Count and apply basic multiplication to figure out piece counts per carriers and overflow amounts
Distinguish between good and bad racking materials, including carriers components
Execute work orders as given
Retain knowledge of racking specifications
Adjust racking plans as needed
Assist in training of employees (in direct coordination with Team Leaders and Supervisors)
Basic understanding of anodizing procedures and how racking affects quality
Knowledge, ability, and understanding of techniques and specifications: carrier building, and racking
Medium to heavy physical demand, frequent lifting, carrying parts, stooping, kneeling, balancing, reaching, standing, walking for extended periods of time, and pushing loaded/ unloaded carts may be required
Must be able to lift parts up to 50lbs, and less frequently, parts up to 100lbs with help. Constant lifting in the 1-20lb range
Must have an acute awareness of conditions and hazards associated with the job
May require other duties as assigned by Supervisor
