 Overall Purpose:  Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do:    
To set up, program and safely operate the Bumper Bender and Press Brake to form parts to print.
Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes:  Your Accountabilities in the Role 
  1. Maintaining High Quality and Efficiency (90% of the job)
  1. Set up, program and safely operate the Bumper Bender and Press Brake to form parts to print in a timely fashion to meet schedule goals set by
  2. Use sequence list to ensure items are moving according to schedules and on-time delivery measures are met as set by lean metric goals
  3. Uphold quality model by conducting all in-process checks as well as report any defects to your Front-Line Leader
  4. Ensure 5s assignments are complete
  5. Timely labor reporting for jobs completed in Visual
  6. Wear required Personal Protective Equipment and abide by safety rules at all times
  1. Mentoring & Training (5% of the job)
  1. Use strengths and skills to mentor and train others in meeting and exceeding delivery dates and customer expectations
  2. Supports leaders and other team areas as needed to meet overall team goals
  3. Participate in incident investigations as needed
  1. Other Areas of Responsibility (5% of the job)
  1. Attend safety meetings as needed
  2. Follow policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook 
  3. Participate in lean manufacturing activities

Position Requirements:
  1. Education: A high school diploma or GED
  2. Experience: 2 or more years’ experience using small to mid-sized tools and computing measurements; experience in quality a plus
  3. Certification(s): n/a
  4. Functional Skills:
  1. Basic math and counting skills (skills assessment)
  2. Use of measuring tools such as tape measure, calipers, paint mil. checker, micrometers, etc. 
  3. Able to read, understand and follow work instructions
  4. Able to read and understand blueprints
  5. Able to work using small hand tools at a good speed
  6. Able to be flexible and move from job to job as priorities change
  7. Ability to use over head cranes and lifting devices
  1. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Ability to use computers to review procedures and enter data
  2. Language Skills: Able to read/write/speak English fluently and is able to fill out all required forms and paperwork needed for the position; communicates in a positive way

Equipment Used:
  • This role routinely uses assembly equipment, various machinery, hand tools, computers, calculators, and other quality control devices.
Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:
  • Ability to stand or walk on concrete surfaces seven plus hours per day
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate hand assembly devices, machinery and other equipment or tools in a safe way for seven plus hours per day
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull and lift up to 50-75 pounds independently to move product on a regular basis
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull and lift over 75 pounds as part of a team lift or using a lifting device
  • Ability to review procedures, do basic math and measurement computations as well as visually compare product to quality specifications
Environmental Conditions & Travel:
  • The employee is primarily exposed to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise. The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments. 
  • The manufacturing warehouse has heat and air-conditioning; however, temperature fluctuates throughout the day.
  • Various machinery, equipment and forklifts are used in the manufacturing areas.  Employees should use extreme caution, follow all safety procedures, and wear all required PPE to ensure safety for themselves and others
